May

Azalea ' Hot Shot'

A Brilliant fiery red 65mm single ruffled flowers produced in early May. This is a wonderful recent American introduction, with a low compact, spreading habit and variegated leaves. This tough plant has pale yellow margins to the leaves that make this a great choice for any garden. Height 50-75cm in 10 years.

This plant is easy to grow and has stunning  evergreen foliage and will take most garden positions. It has an ideal soil type ph 4.5 to 6.0

Poppy 'Calafornian Mix'

These dainty hardy annuals are tougher than they appear and positively thrive on poor, dry soils. The papery orange and yellow flowers attract bees and hoverflies, and make excellent, if short-lived, cut flowers. California poppies are easy to grow in beds and borders, or let them self seed throughout gravel gardens to form natural drifts. Height: 23cm (9”). Spread: 25cm (10”).

Weigelia Rosea

A pink variety. Prune by one third after flowers. It flowers in late May-July. Height and spread 2m, but can be kept at a 1.2m with regular prunning.
Plant in any good quality garden soil, as long as it is relatively moist. Plant in full sun or in partial shade.

You should lightly prune back annually, after flowering and remove any wayward or damaged branches.

Armeria maritima
"
Rubrifolia"

A hardy, evergreen, mound-forming perennial with linear, purple-brown foliage. Height to 20cm. (8"), spread to 30cm (12"). Stiff stems bear clusters of pink flowers from April to July. Prefers a poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil and a sunny position.

Bellis perennis

Common name Daisy and Family Asteraceae

They produce Pink, White and Yellow Flowers in Spring and Summer.

The Foliage is dark green in Autumn, Spring, Summer and Winter.

Bellis are perennials forming a rosette of spoon-shaped leaves, with daisy-like flower-heads, often double in cultivars, from early spring to late summer.

B. perennis is an evergreen perennial forming rosettes of dark green, spoon-shaped leaves, with small, solitary, yellow-centred, pink-tinged, white daisies in late spring and summer.
