Pandorea jasminoides Southern-Belle

Evergreen climber with beautiful clusters of pale pink flowers with a dark pink throat in summer. Needs a cool conservatory in summer or can be stood out side. Feed monthly in summer.  Size 3 metres (10 feet). Minimum

Passiflora 'Amethyst'

Purple flowers with purple filaments from April-Nov. Well drained soil/ loam based compost. In a hot conservatory, shade from sun. Prune (hard back if needed) in spring. Minimum temperature minus 5° C. AGM. 4 metres (12 feet) plus.

Fatsia japonica

Glossy evergreen shrub with large umbels of cream flowers in autumn followed by black berries. For fertile, well drained soil in full sun or light shade with protection from cold winds. Hight is 3 metres (10 feet). Minimum temperature minus 5° C.

Lantana camara Samantha Yellow flowered

Tender Shrub with clusters of yellow flowers with a spicy scent from late spring-winter. Attracts butterflies and Humming birds Hawk Moths. An easy to care for choice for baskets, window boxes, and borders.. Trim in spring to keep bushy. SEEDS ARE POISONOUS. High 45-60 cms (1˝ / 2 feet). Likes full sun.

 

Justicia aurea

Upright tender perennial with large heads of drooping, tubular yellow flowers. Similar to J. carnea. Grow in loam based compost with added grit in good light. Cut back in spring to promote bushy growth. The height is 1.2 metres (4 feet). Minimum temperature minus 7° C.

 

Hebe ‘Midsummer Beauty’

 is a large, strong-growing, upright evergreen shrub, about 5 ft (1.5 m) high. The green leaves are spear-shaped, up to 4 in (10 cm) long, and purplish when young. The flowers are light violet fading to white, and occur in long spikes up to 12 in (30 cm) long, summer to late autumn. A hebe fairly hardy in the UK.

This hebe is good shrub for landscaping or a large garden; but for smaller gardens Hebe ‘Edington’ is better (more compact and hardy, better leaf and flower colour).

To change centre piece during the season plant an empty pot in the centre display


Then plant the bedding around the pot.

Place a potted plant in the centeral container
When the centre plant finishes flowering replace with another that is in bloom.( Sysirinchium 'E K Balls' )
Gravel over to disguise the central pot and prevent weed growth

Has that old bird bath had it's day. Why not plant it up with Alpines.             Don't forget the drainage holes.
